We partnered with Backcountry to manufacture their Venture Beyond Merino Blend Ski Sock—a technical, over-the-calf performance sock designed specifically for long days in ski and snowboard boots.
Performance Starts With the Right Materials
When you’re creating a sock for skiing and snowboarding, material selection matters.
The Venture Beyond Ski Sock uses a carefully engineered blend of 38% merino wool, 38% acrylic, 18% polyester, 4% nylon and 2% spandex. The result combines the natural performance characteristics of merino wool with synthetic fibers selected to improve structure, durability, stretch and moisture management.
Merino wool is particularly well suited for cold-weather performance. It’s naturally soft, helps regulate temperature, continues to insulate when wet and offers natural odor resistance—important advantages when you’re spending an entire day on the mountain.
Designed for Ski & Snowboard Boots
A great ski sock has to do more than keep your feet warm.
Fit, cushioning and construction all play a role in how the sock performs inside a boot. Backcountry’s Venture Beyond sock features a lightweight profile with targeted underfoot cushioning and an over-the-calf height designed to work comfortably with ski and snowboard footwear.
Adding spandex provides the stretch needed to maintain a secure fit while allowing freedom of movement. The synthetic components add durability and help the sock dry quickly—creating a technical sock built for repeated days on the mountain.
